Brent graduated from Newcastle Upon Tyne in General Practice Surveying, completing his training with a large commercial firm of RICS Chartered Surveyors in Manchester, W H Robinson & Co Chartered Surveyors.
After a number of years there, Brent joined H W Petty – an estate agent founded by his father, Alexander Forbes – and quickly helped to grow the firm from three to seven offices. Brent worked in various departments, including residential sales and property management, commercial sales and lettings for many years, delivering RICS regulated professional valuations and providing expert advice, including Red Book, Pension Fund, land and Probate Valuations.

Following the company sale in 2019, Brent remained with the business for a further three years, eventually leaving in early 2023.
But Brent wasn't ready to hang up his boots… and so Brent Forbes Chartered Surveyors was born. Its aim: to offer a professional and friendly service, submitting valuation reports within 7 days after inspection and providing expert advice at a competitive price.
